Director of DEVENTit BV, a privately held software house based in Bunschoten, The Netherlands. Mr. Van Diermen holds a BSc degree in Computer Science and an MSc degree in Information Technology. After graduation in 1992, he worked as a software engineer/consultant. In 1997 he became manager of the development department of Advisie Automatisering. In 1999 he started DEVENTit as a management buy-out of the development department of Advisie. DEVENTit evolved in this period from a company which was specialized in tailor made software for various applications to a professional software house with a specialization in solutions for collection management and creation of information portals. Now, the Atlantis software is the leading platform on which these kinds of solutions are built for organizations in the Cultural Heritage Sector. Solutions on Atlantis are fully webbased, based on leading world and industry standards, offer an open architecture, serve all stakeholders from collection manager to the general public and promotes corporation between departments and organizations. Mr. Van Diermen is responsible for the marketing and sales of Atlantis and all other products and services of DEVENTit. Due to his technical background and experience in software development, domain-specific knowledge of Cultural Heritage in general and the Archives in specific, Mr. Van Diermen is an excellent sparring partner and intermediate between software development and all stakeholders in the Cultural Heritage sector.
