Bio
Patricia Alkhoven is Projectmanager of the CATCHPlus project at the Meertens Institute in Amsterdam. CATCHPlus aims to develop and implement software tools for Cultural Heritage. The results build on the national digital infrastructure while at the same time valorizing scientific research results. Many Dutch museums, libraries and archives and other cultural heritage institutions and universities are involved in CATCHPlus, as well as there are European and international cooperations.
Before Patricia joined the Meertens Institute she worked for several organisations in the field of ICT en Cultural Heritage. She has a PhD in Architectural History (The Changing Image of the City, 1993) and worked for twelve years at the Research & Development Department of the Koninklijke Bibliotheek, the National Library of the Netherlands. She was Director of the Universal Decimal Classification Consortium 2006-2007 and Head of Collections of the Netherlands Architecture Institute 2007-2010.
