Ellen Fleurbaay is Public Services Division Leader at the Amsterdam City Archives. She initiated several projects with one and the same ambition: to make all archives and collections from the ACA worldwide and 24/7 available. There is still a long way to go, but with more than 10 million scans online in the Beeldbank and Archiefbank in less than 10 years, between 2.000 and 3.000 users of these two websites daily and a scan-on-demand-service producing 15.000 scans a week, a nice start has been made. At this moment Ellen leads a project called ‘VeleHanden’, the first Dutch website for crowdsourcing for archival documents. November 2011 Velehanden.nl will be online, but already during the testperiod the site proved to be very popular and generated a huge production.
